Boca Raton Face Lifts: How it's done
The traditional surgery, which addresses problems around the mid to lower face and neck, usually involves making a small incision above the hairline at the temple. We continue around the hairline, go back into the ear, follow around the bottom of the earlobe and go into the hairline high up behind the ear. The surgeon trims excess tissue, tightens facial muscles and redrapes the skin, eliminating many of the cheek folds and jowls.
Dr. Korpeck performs the surgery in his in-office certified operating suite in Boca Raton and patients usually stay overnight in our in-office recovery facility. It takes a few weeks for the face to heal and return to a normal, social lifestyles.
Options for younger patients (isolated procedures for the neckline and mid face)
Not everyone needs a full face lift. More targeted procedures can help younger patients achieved their desired results, with less invasive surgery.
Many men and women in their 30s and 40s who want to tighten only their necklines have the option of the isolated neck lifts. This procedure, combining liposuction with necklift can give a dramatic improvement to one's neckline, without having to have a face lift.
The mid cheek lift is among the menu of new options surgeons today can offer their baby boomer patients. Mid face rejuvenation corrects the anatomic changes that occur with facial aging, which are usually the first to show as we get into our 40s. The cheek skin that was once rounded over our cheek bones begins to droop, causing a more tired, hollowed out appearance around the lower eyelids. The fat pad, which once rested on the cheek bone and added to our youthful glow, descends into the mid face. And the folds between the nose and mouth become more pronounced as the skin above them approaches.
Combination techniques
The face lift and these isolated procedures address specific areas of the face. They do not take away forehead wrinkles, drooping eyelids or diminish minor wrinkling around the eyes, cheeks, and lips. The face lift is a versatile procedure that can be combined with other procedures, such as brow lifts, blepharoplasty, facial implants, facial liposuction, laser skin resurfacing, and fat injections.
