Abdominoplasty Boca Raton (Tummy Tucks)

Abdominoplasty, better known as a "tummy tuck" is a cosmetic surgery procedure which is designed to reshape and firm the abdomen. Removal of excess fat and skin from the abdomen's middle and lower sections are necessary in order to tighten the muscles of the abdominal wall. Woman who are not considering having any or more children are the usual candidates for this type of surgery. 1. An incision is made from hip to hip just above the pubic area.

4. The skin flap is reattached with any extra skin being removed. A new hole for the navel is made and stitched into place.
5. All stitches are dressed and any excess fluid from the site is drained

A partial Abdominoplasty involves three steps:

1. A smaller incision is made.
2. The skin in removed between the incision and the navel. The skin is stretched down and excess skin removed.
3. The flap is stitched back into place

Recovery from a complete Abdominoplasty can take from four to six weeks. Patients are advised to take this recovery time off from work and are also advised not to smoke during recovery. For the first ten days, a patient may experience bruising and discomfort. A supportive abdominal device is normally worn to ensure proper healing.
